Carroll County VA Agricultural Fair
"Experiencing our Treasures Past & Present"
"YOU CAN GROW IT" CONTEST

This year the Carroll County Agricultural Fair held its first "YOU CAN GROW IT" exhibit contest for 2nd and 3rd graders. Children were given Pumpkin seeds, Squash seeds, and Radish seeds and growing instructions for them.
The You Can Grow It Exhibits were brought to the Southwest Virginia Farmer’s Market on August 22, 2011 to be judged.

GOALS:
- To promote agricultural awareness in today’s youth
- To provide a hands on experience in growing garden vegetables
The reason for these grades, is to coincide with the Carroll County Agricultural Fair Ag Education Days at the fair.
